I must be getting that old, though i am not feeling it... Swear..
My wife reminded me that i must come home for the double graduation of our two kids. The eldest will finish high school and the youngest will finish elementary.
Since in the Philippines, high school and college are four years only. That would mean that in the next four years, my children will again have a double graduation.. Wow...
My son is moving to college. He said he plans to take Accountancy. Good. I am planning to give him a calculator and a Dummy's Guide to Basic Accounting book... 'not joking. He was asking for a laptop or a PS2 in exchange for a respectable above-80 average. Hmm.. We'll see..
The daughter was asking for the moon... Her own laptop. Tough luck, hija. Your declining academics is hardly worth an incentive....
I am such a worrier that i am beginning to get sleepless nights when i think June is just around the corner.
I worry for my daughter, because ever since i went for overseas work, her studies just went down and i can feel the dissipating enthusiasm for study in her. She just avoids discussion on her studies and grades. Often when we talked over the phone, she would gushed about he she made it to Chess team or the English club, until i realize that these were just smoke-screen for her declining academic performance. Grounded. That's what i told her. no more extra-kuri2x.
I just have to give kudos to my wife for keeping the kids in line. I know it's tough for them growing up with their father in a far away land....
But i hope and pray they will grow up as fine and successful professionals...
